Solitude is Sacred

Burnout is a soul's call to itself. It's a call to rekindle the flame between you and you. It's an opportunity to retreat and remember. To remember your values, your needs, your urges. All this is done in solitude. It's purposefully distancing yourself from the clamorous world in order to listen intently to your own voice. If you honor this time you will be like a geyser, allowing the ideas, habits, and burdens of others which you've been carrying around as your own to surge through and out of you thus making space for yourself again. Some of my success can be attributed to doing more but, much of it, I'm finding, happens by intentionally sitting back and reflecting as Life's continual beckoning shows no sign of slowing down.
